This month we are studying fairy tales! We will be reading several different fairy tales, but focusing on three main ones: The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and Jack and the Beanstalk.  As part of our unit, we will be reading several varieties of these fairy tales and making Venn Diagrams to compare stories. Students will also be doing fun art projects and having snacks associated with the fairly tales. Part of our free play room has transformed into a castle and we have lots of fun dress up clothes for princesses and princes.

In addition to reading fairly tales, we will begin doing some acting at theater at school. Students will be acting out our three main fairly tales throughout the month. We will also have a our puppet theater in our free play room for fairy tale puppet shows.

Of course this month is Thanksgiving! We will be holding our annual Stone Soup Luncheon this month. As part of our annual Thanksgiving celebration, each class is going to be making Stone Soup. Each student will bring a vegetable from home to add to our soup! This is a great way for us to “share” our food, talk about healthy eating and have a Thanksgiving celebration together. A member of each child’s family is welcome to join us for our Stone Soup (due to our limited space, we ask that only one family member attend).

We had such a fun time with our three classes as we celebrated Halloween. Each class got to play Halloween themed games, read Halloween stories, have special Halloween treats and even got to go on a Halloween parade down Woodstock Blvd. We loved seeing all of our students in costume!IMG_8052.JPG
