Halloween Celebration

Our Halloween parties are on Wednesday, October 30, and Thursday, October 31. Your child is welcome to wear a costume to school. Please refrain from “scary” costumes, scary masks, and make-up. Our day will consist of “show-n-telling” our costumes, games, a fu snack, and a costume parade. During our quiet reading time, students will watch one of our favorite Halloween stories Room On The Broom on DVD (about 30 minutes).

Our parade will begin at the school and go up Woodstock Blvd, to Papaccino’s and back. Parents are welcome to join us for our parade. Parade time is TBD and will be cancelled if raining.

Our Spanich classes will be celebrating “Day of the Dead - El Dia De Los Muertos” on November 7 & 8.

Mid October, we will be going to Plumper Pumpkin Patch for our pumpkin patch field trip.

Please note that a parent/guardian is required to go and we will all be meeting at the pumpkin patch. This is a no school day. Details for parents will be sent home prior to the trip.

Apples & Fall Harvest

Fall is upon us, and apples are in season! This month, we will be studying fall harvest, farming, apples and pumpkins! Students will be tasting different apples, garden vegetables and we will be making our own applesauce! In our dramatic play area, we will have our own pumpkin patch on our train table, a pie-making station and fall leaves to rake.

Nature Walks

Our nature walks will begin in October where we will observe the change in season around our neighborhood. Students will be collecting leaves to take back to our nature observation center.

Dress for rainy days

Please send your child to school with a raincoat and rain boots or appropriate shoes on rainy days.

School Pictures

Picture day will be Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct 10. They will take place at the schoolhouse. A former parent, ‘With Love, Light, Lens’ will be taking photos this year.

Open House

Thursday, October 17 is our Open House. This is an opportunity for students to show their families around their school. You are welcome to come any time during the hours of 5:30-7:00 and plan on staying 20-30 minutes.

Show-n-Tell

Students will be very excited to know that Show-n-Tell will begin this month! We will be having Show-n-Tell once/month. Students are able to bring one special item from home (toy, souvenir, pictures, etc.) Be sure to check the monthly calendar.
